A pre-trial conference over the murder of the Wells Fargo Human Resource Manager Willis Ayieko was held at the Siaya High Court on Monday, where three suspects appeared.

The suspects, Victor Ouma Okoth, Duncan Ochieng, and Samuel Onyango were arrested in October 2024 and appeared before Justice David Kemei.

The three, who have denied any involvement in Ayieko’s killing, have applied for bail through their lawyers.

However, Justice David Kemei denied their bail application and ordered that the three remain in custody at Kodiaga Maximum Prison as they await their hearing, scheduled for May 26 and 27, 2025.

The court also ordered that the second accused, Duncan Ochieng, be transferred from Siaya GK Prison to Kodiaga Maximum Prison in Kisumu County.

Justice Kemei stated that a ruling on whether bond will be granted for the third accused in the case will be delivered on April 8, 2025.

The decomposing body of the Ayieko was found in a shallow stream on October 23, 2024, three days after he was reported missing in Gem Yala sub-county.
